Adama Diomande was showered with beer by his own supporters after scoring a last minute winner for Los Angeles FC against Sporting Kansas City.
There was late drama in Major League Soccer’s opening weekend and the match at the Banc of California stadium appeared to be heading for a 1-1 draw.
In the fourth minute of added time, Diomande fired in from 12 yards out to send the LAFC fans wild.
The former Hull City striker ran over to the home fans to celebrate and an over-exuberant supporter tipped a beer over his head.
The scenes after the winner were incredible with a number of black flares let off in the packed stand.
Sporting Kansas City had taken the lead in the match with a Krisztian Nemeth goal after 16 minutes.
LAFC equalised through Diego Rossi shortly after half-time.
Kansas had Roger Espinoza sent off six minutes from time before Diomande scored the winner.
