‘An unprecedented force’ – Fans praise Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho after saving his side from shock German Cup exit

21 Aug

Jadon Sancho showed why he is set for a huge future in football with another match-winning performance for Borussia Dortmund.

The 18-year-old came off the bench to set up Marco Reus’ winner during the Bundelsiga side’s German Cup victory over Greuther Furth.

New signing Axel Witsel scored a 95th minute equaliser to take the game into extra time on his debut, before Reus scored in the last-minute to seal the game.

However, much of the post-match chat was fixated on former Manchester City man Sancho.

It was his incredible run and cross which found the Dortmund captain in acres of space to score the winner, leaving fans stunned.

According to the The Sun, Sancho is one of four youngsters England boss Gareth Southgate is keen to integrate into his squad before Euro 2020.

As you can see from the footage below, it is not hard to understand why the forward is already being considered, having captured the imagination of fans during his debut campaign last season.

Sancho made the decision to leave the Etihad in the summer of 2017, where he was immediately handed the No.7 shirt vacated by Ousmane Dembele.

He was included in the England Under-17 squad which won the World Cup last October, but was withdrawn from the knockout stages by his club after scoring two goals against Chile.

His first Bundesliga goal came in April last year, when he also set up two goals in a 4-0 rout of Bayer Leverkusen.
