How Juventus could line up next season by beating Manchester United and Liverpool to European wonderkids

25 Apr

Cristiano Ronaldo has not managed to get to the top of world football by waiting for things to come to him.

The ruthlessly driven Juventus striker is renowned for his dedication and attitude, be it to training or his personal life.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants SIX new players at Juventus

After wrapping up the Serie A title at the weekend, the 34-year-old is now the only man in history to have won titles in Italy, Spain and England.

Naturally, what the five-time Ballon d’Or wants tends to happen. According to reports from Italy, Ronaldo has presented managed Massimiliano Allegri with a shortlist of six names he wants brought to join him in Turin.

Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix, Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Isco, European wonderkids Tanguy Ndombele and Federico Chiesa and Manchester United target Kostas Manolas are all on transfer targets for the Old Lady this summer.

Should the bianconeri manage to pull off one of the most spectacular transfer spending sprees in history, their team for next season could well be unstoppable.

Aaron Ramsey is already on his way to Turin next season

With Ronaldo turning 35 before the end of 2019, the Portugal captain will be all-too aware his time at the top must surely be coming to an end.

The former Manchester Unite forward’s desire to add a sixth Champions League trophy to his repertoire will surely see at least one or two of these transfer targets achieved.

And with Aaron Ramsey already on the way from Arsenal, Juve could have a serious side next year.

Check it out below!

Here’s how Juventus *could* cram their new stars in

Perhaps the biggest overhaul to this side would be at the back, replacing Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci with two younger defenders.

Varane and Manolas are physically dominant centre-halves, with the capabilities to also play out from the back.

In midfield, Ramsey is expected to slot in and challenge Emre Can and Miralem Pjanic for a starting berth. Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been chasing Tanguy Ndombele of Lyon, so securing his signature would be huge for Juve.

Although Isco is a firm favourite of Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, selling the midfielder would raise extra funds for a proposed revamp at the Bernabeu.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner wants a Real Madrid reunion

Federico Chiesa has been in sparkling form in Serie A and reports from Italy suggest La Viola will look to cash in on their star man. But the biggest acquisition would undoubtedly be Joao Felix.

Aged just 19, the Benfica forward has burst onto the scene in Portugal and is wanted by a host of top European clubs.

Already hailed as Ronaldo’s successor, Liverpool and Manchester United are both reportedly keen on the talented teen tearing up Europe.

Cristiano Ronaldo demands Juventus sign SIX superstars to end Champions League hoodoo, including Man United and Liverpool targets

24 Apr

Cristiano Ronaldo wants the Juventus board to splash the cash this summer and end the club’s European heartbreak.

The bianconeri were dumped out of the Champions League this season by Ajax at the quarter-final stage – the second successive time they have reached the last eight.

Summer signing Ronaldo became the most expensive Serie A player at €112million following his move to Real Madrid, but failure in Europe will have stung the Portuguese, who has won the competition for the last three seasons.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to transform Juventus into European heavyweights again

The Eredivisie side, whose annual revenue is less than the figure Juve spent to sign Ronaldo, won 2-1 in Turin to claim a 3-2 aggregate win.

Despite claiming their EIGHTH Scudetto in a row, Ronaldo has called on chiefs in Turin to finance a lucrative squad overhaul.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has named six players he believes will transform Juve into Champions League contenders.

Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix (also wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool) is at the top of the list after his stunning breakthrough season in Portugal.

Ronaldo and Joao Felix could be teammates at club level

The 19-year-old could be joined at the Allianz Stadium by Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammates Raphael Varane and Isco.

Isco struggled for regular game time under Santiago Solari, but is considered a key man by Zinedine Zidane.

World Cup winner Varane is reportedly on the search for a new challenge away from Spain, but recently signed a long-term deal at the Bernabeu.

Reports in Italy suggest Ronaldo would be keen to make the deal happen as it would strengthen the Italian champions, while also weakening a major European rival.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner wants a Real Madrid reunion

Fiorentina could cash in on 21-year-old Federico Chiesa, while fellow European starlet Tanguy Ndombele could also be set for a move away from Lyon.

And the final name discussed between Massimiliano Allegri and Ronaldo is Kostas Manolas – the Roma defender with a £31million release clause.

Ronaldo became the first player in history to win the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A after wrapping up the Italian title in his first season in Turin.

Zinedine Zidane, Diego Simeone, George Weah and other legends with sons playing for Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Celtic and Roma

2 Apr

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was forced to defend the  decision to start his son, Luca, in goal for Los Blancos’ narrow win over LaLiga strugglers Huesca at the weekend.

He insisted he handed Luca his first competitive start because Thibaut Courtois was injured and Keylor Navas was tired from the international break and it was nothing to do with the fact Luca is his son.

Luca Zidane made his first competitive start as Real Madrid scraped to a 3-2 win

The 20-year-old may feel he has big shoes to fill having one of the greatest players of all time for a father and this got us thinking, which other football icons have sons who are currently playing professionally?

This could make you feel old!

Zinedine Zidane – Enzo and Luca

Luca was shaky on his first start for Real Madrid, however, he was ultimately on the winning side but he’s not the only Zidane boy making it in football.

Zinedine played for Real Madrid between 2001-06 and Luca if following in his footsteps

The eldest is Enzo, 24, who is currently on loan at Rayo Majadahonda in the Spanish second tier from Swiss side FC Lausanne Sport.

Meanwhile, younger siblings Theo and Elyaz play for Real Madrid at youth level.

Lilian Thuram – Marcus and Khephren Thuram

Zidane’s World Cup-winning team-mate Thuram has two sons who are professional footballers – Marcus, 21 and Khephren, 18.

They’re both doing pretty well with Marcus, who has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham in the past, playing for Ligue 1 side Guingamp.

Khephren is at Monaco and scored a stunning goal in a Under-19s match at Chelsea in February.

Lilian (centre) is best known for his time at Juventus but Marcus (left) and Khephren (right) have promising careers of their own

George Weah – Timothy Weah

George Weah was voted the FIFA World Player of the Year in 1995 and his son Timothy, 19, is emerging as an exciting prospect in the game.

Striker Timothy signed for Celtic on loan in January from Paris Saint-Germain and has scored two goals for the Scottish Premiership club.

George played for PSG between 1992-95, Timothy’s parent club

It should also be noted that George’s first son George Jr tried his hand as a footballer, but has not been with a club since 2016.

Diego Simeone – Giovanni and Gianluca Simeone

Atletico Madrid boss Simeone, who played 106 times for Argentina and counts Lazio, Inter and Atletico as former clubs, has five children and all three of his sons are in football.

His eldest Giovanni, 23, plays for Serie A club Fiorentina, while Gianluca plays for Argentine club Gimnasia y Esgrima.

And third son Guiliano, 16, is on the books at River Plate’s academy and is expected to break into the first-team.

Diego with Gianluca (left) and Giovanni (right) before a match with Argentina in 2001. Needless to say the boys have grown up a lot since!

Enrico Chiesa – Federico Chiesa

Chiesa had a 22-year long career in professional football, playing for Sampdoria, Lazio and Parma, scoring in the 1999 UEFA Cup final win for the latter. The former striker’s son, Federico, is carrying on the success in the family.

The winger currently plays for Fiorentina and was linked with a £53million move to Chelsea and Liverpool early in the season as well as Manchester United in February.

Enrico played for Fiorentina for three years while Federico has been in Florence since he was 10-years-old

Peter Schmeichel – Kasper Schmeichel

Schmeichel Jr, 32, has been around for quite a while and although he hasn’t won as many accolades as his dad, Manchester United legend, Peter, he has enjoyed huge success in his career.

He is Leicester’s first choice goalkeeper and was part of the Foxes team which sensationally won the Premier League title in the 2015/16 season.

Kasper has a son Max, so who knows what he might achieve!

Both Peter and Kasper have enjoyed great success as players

Patrick Kluivert – Justin Kluivert

At his peak, Kluivert Sr was one of the most feared strikers in European football and he appears to have passed that onto his sons as well.

Justin, 19, who moved to Roma last summer, despite interest from Manchester United, is the only Kluivert son playing professionally so far. He also has appearances for the Netherlands national team under his belt.

Patrick played for a number of big clubs including Barcelona while Justin is at Roma

However, Ruben Kluivert, 17, is on the books at FC Utrecht and there are all sorts of videos around the internet of 11-year-old Shane Patrick Kluivert lighting it up at youth level.

Gheorghe Hagi – Ianis Hagi

Gheroghe Hagi is viewed by many as one of the greatest Romanian footballers of all time and his son Ianis clearly has some talent, too.

Ianis, who was nominated for the European Golden Boy award in April 2017, currently plies his trade at Romanian club Viitorul Constanța.

However, at 20 years old, Ianis still has time to make his name.

Ianis (right) has yet to play for Romania at senior level

Paolo Maldini – Christian Maldini

The Maldini family name is football royalty with Paolo emulating his father Cesare in winning numerous Serie A and European titles with AC Milan.

Cesare won the European cup in 1963, while Paolo won it on five occasions, the last coming in 2007

And now Paolo’s son Christian, 22, has made it as a footballer but is playing for Italian third tier side Alma Juventus Fano 1906.

Paolo’s younger son Daniel, 17, currently plays for Milan at youth level.

Rivaldo – Rivaldinho

Barcelona legend Rivaldo had a glittering career as a player – winning accolades including the World Cup in 2002 with Brazil as well as the Ballon d’Or in 1999.

And his son Rivaldinho, 23, has also entered the family business.

Rivaldinho is on loan at Viitorul Constanta alongside Ianis Hagi, from parent club Levski Sofia of Bulgaria.

Top 10 Under-21 footballers in Europe this season, including Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho

Wonderkids are the way forward at the moment as top European clubs target the next big thing in the transfer market.

Manchester United are just one such club and have been linked with Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly told Manchester United Sancho will cost £70million

They’re not the only youngsters impressing around Europe though.

But who are the best of the bunch when it comes to the world’s best wonderkids?

WhoScored have compiled the list with the requirements being that they are 21 or under and have made at least 20 appearances.

Kylian Mbappe has established himself as one of the best players in Europe

10. Youssef En-Nesyri (Leganes) – 7.08 rating from 22 appearances

En-Nesyri became the first Leganes player to score a La Liga hat-trick last month and has eight goals to his name this campaign.

The 21-year-old signed for the club from Malaga, following their relegation, and has already doubled his goal tally from last season.

9. Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen) – 7.13 rating from 23 appearances

The midfielder has nine goals and three assists in the Bundesliga, a phenomenal return for a 19-year-old.

Unsurprisingly, Bayern Munich are interested in signing the Germany international.

Kai Havertz has attracted interest from Bayern Munich

8. Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina) – 7.14 rating from 25 appearances

The 21-year-old has five goals and three Serie A assists from midfield this season.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are rumoured to be closely watching him and are ready to pounce if he wants to move away from Italy.

7. Christian Kouame (Genoa) – 7.15 rating from 25 appearances

The forward, 21, may only have four goals to his name this season but is quick and excellent in the air.

Only two players have won more aerial duels per game in Serie A than the Genoa striker (5.2).

He has attracted interested from Napoli and Juventus who both are keen on signing him in the summer.

6. Luka Jovic (Frankfurt) – 7.21 rating from 21 appearances

Jovic’s 15 Bundesliga goals this term have caught the attention of Manchester City who are reportedly monitoring his situation.

The 21-year-old forward is only on loan at Frankfurt, from Benfica, but they are set to trigger a clause in their agreement to make the move permanent.

5. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) – 7.23 rating in 25 appearances

The right-back has established himself as a regular in Roy Hodgson’s side.

Arsenal are also in the running for the £40million-rated 21-year-old.

4. Allan Saint-Maximin (Nice) – 7.25 rating in 23 appearances

Saint-Maximin’s performances have attracted a lot of attention from top clubs around Europe, including AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old angered his club in February, though, when he missed their 3-0 defeat at Angers without permission citing stomach troubles as the reason.

3. Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) – 7.41 rating in 22 appearances

Forward Dembele has flourished this season and added a different dimension to Barcelona’s attack.

The 21-year-old might not get the same number of goals that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have for Barcelona but he has hit the net eight times and assisted four more in La Liga.

Manchester United transfer news: Red Devils facing competition from Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid for Federico Chiesa

7 Feb

Manchester United are battling it out with many of Europe’s top clubs for the signature of Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, reports claim.

The Italy international is one of the most exciting prospects in Serie A and everyone wants a piece of the 21-year-old.

Federico Chiesa is wanted by a number of clubs across Europe

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Chiesa is also wanted by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Juventus and Manchester City.

Fiorentina value the player at £60million, however that number is continually rising as Chiesa continues to perform exceptionally well in 2019.

He has seven goals already since the turn of the year, with a hat-trick in the Viola’s 7-1 humiliation of Roma in the Coppa Italia.

The winger has earned 11 caps for Italy after working his way through the Azzurri’s youth ranks.

United are not short of wide players, especially after Anthony Martial signed a new deal keeping him at the club until 2024.

The Red Devils are also rumoured to be interested in a summer move for England sensation Jadon Sancho.

The 18-year-old has risen to stardom at Borussia Dortmund after leaving Manchester City in 2017.

Chelsea and Liverpool target Federico Chiesa ‘happy’ at Fiorentina amid Premier League interest

17 Oct

Federico Chiesa insists he is ‘happy’ at Fiorentina amid reported interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

Chiesa, the winger, has emerged as one of the most in-demand young players in European football after a number of impressive performances for the Serie A club.

Chiesa has started the 2018/19 season brightly, playing a role in four goals in just eight matches

He’s scored 12 goals and created a further 14 in 80 appearances for Viola, and was rewarded for his fine form with a debut Italy cap earlier this year.

Reports claim both Chelsea and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Chiesa, the son of former Italy international Enrico, with a transfer battle set to begin when the transfer window reopens.

The interest in the youngster has led to Fiorentina slapping a huge £53million (€60m) price tag on Chiesa’s head in an attempt to keep hold of their starlet.

But it seems Fiorentina have little to fear with Chiesa insisting he remains happy with the club.

“My only priority is to show, Sunday after Sunday, who Federico Chiesa is,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“I’m happy here at Fiorentina now. Again, I’m only thinking of the next game.

Chiesa has represented his country nine times since debuting in March

“I’m just thinking about proving my value all the time those numbers seem a bit exaggerated.

“Who would I buy for €60m (£52.8m)? Give me some more, because for the absolute top players you need €200m (£176m).”

Napoli could start transfer battle with £50million bid for Liverpool and Chelsea target Federico Chiesa

15 Oct

Napoli are preparing a fresh bid of more than £50million for Chelsea and Liverpool target Federico Chiesa, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian giants tried to sign the winger in the summer, but Fiorentina rejected their enquiry and explained he was not for sale.

Chelsea and Liverpool were sniffing around the Italy international then too, but did not firm up their interest.

A transfer battle for Chiesa is expected to ignite again in the summer and Napoli are set to kick it off.

The Serie A side are ready slap in a formal offer of more than £50million for the 20-year-old, which they hope could get a deal over the line.

That may well spark Chelsea and Liverpool into life, who both remain interested in Chiesa.

Transfer rumours: Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City to do battle for Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa
Will Chiesa be 'heading' to the Premier League?

Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are ready to battle the Serie A big guns to sign Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina, according to reports.

An impressive season in the Italian top flight has seen the winger linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

The La Viola starlet made his debut for the national side against Argentina at the Etihad and could be about to make playing in England a far more regular occurrence.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, all three of the aforementioned Premier League clubs are interested in the 20-year-old; but they will have to beat off competition from sides in his homeland.

Roma have already have a bid of £35 million plus Stephen El Shaarawy turned down, while Napoli have also been rebuffed despite offering £44 million and any player of Fiorentina’s choice.

Inter Milan and Juventus are also interested in Chiesa, who made his debut in the 2016-17 season.

A left-sided forward, the 20-year-old likes to cut inside and drive at the opposition full-backs wherever possible.

He scored nine goals and registered five assists last season as he helped La Viola finish eighth in Serie A last season.
