Liverpool have made an offer for Athletic Club’s Iker Muniain, according to reports in Spain.
Muniain, the attacker, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at San Mames and has yet to pen fresh terms.
Long rated as one of the most promising young players in Spanish football, Muniain is now 25 and remains with his first club – for whom he has made over 350 appearances.
A lone Spain cap was won back in 2012, but the former teen prodigy has fallen somewhat off the radar over the last couple of years.
Nonetheless he remains a solid performer in Spain’s top flight, and he’s started 2018/19 in fine form, netting four goals in just nine matches predominantly from the left wing.

Muniain’s return to form has coincided with his contract entering it’s final year, and Liverpool are reported to have already made an offer for the 25-year-old.
According to Marca – as reported by Sport Witness – the Reds have made a proposal to Muniain, believed to be an offer for him to move to Anfield when his deal expires next summer.
Napoli are also named as having moved for Muniain.
The report does suggest Muniain is leaning towards remaining at Athletic Club, having joined as a 13-year-old in 2005, but it is made clear no agreement has yet been reached for him to extend his existing deal.
