Kean Bryan will sign for Rangers from Manchester City today thanks to the persuasive powers of Steven Gerrard.
The Ibrox boss has already signed Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Ryan Kent and Jon Flanagan since taking the manager’s job earlier this year.
According, to The Sun, Kean will sign a three-year deal worth around £2.5 million in wages and signing on fee.
“Kean is a huge admirer of Gerrard and always thought if he moved on from City he would stay in the Premier League or the Championship,” SunSport have been told.
“But the chance of playing – and learning – from one of Britain’s best ever midfielders is too good to turn down.”
The 21-year-old midfielder was once tipped by former City Academy boss Patrick Vieira to make it to the very top, but has found his pathway to the first team blocked since Pep Guardiola took over as manager.
Bryan spent last year on loan at Oldham, where he played in defence alongside the Rangers manager’s cousin Anthony Gerrard.
In Glasgow, though, he is expected to play on the left side of midfield.
Rangers take on Croatian side Osijek on Thursday in a Europa League qualifier.
