The agent of Bobby Duncan has written a lengthy post on Instagram in response to his critics.

Saif Rubie helped Duncan leave Liverpool on the European transfer deadline day, securing a £1.9million move to Fiorentina on Monday.

But Rubie came under intense criticism of his handling of Duncan’s exit, even getting embroiled in a social media scrap with Reds legend Jamie Carragher.

And after the 18-year-old secured his move to the Serie A side, Rubie expressed his ‘joy’ at having completed his client’s Anfield exit.

He wrote on Instagram: “To be in the top 1% you have to be prepared to do what 99% of the rest won’t do. In my line of work I know nobody even comes near.

“Not everything in life is black and white and you have to be able to adapt and roll with the punches.

“Now Bobby Duncan has the opportunity to live and experience something not many young English players have done.

“That’s what leaders do. We are not followers. Thanks to all the people who have supported me in this difficult period means a lot.

“The joy of getting the job done makes all the struggle and doubt worthwhile. PS Kevin Prince-Boateng you better look after our little brother.”

Rubie clashed with the Reds and sporting director Michael Edwards last week and even claimed the 32-goal forward was being kept on Merseyside against his will.
