The L.A. Kings defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-2 last night in NHL action, but that wasn’t the headline.
Will Ferrell, or, more accurately, Ron Burgundy, made his presence felt in the commentary booth and stole the show.
Burgundy is the main character in the ultra-popular pair of comedy films Anchorman, but Ferrell has revived the character recently to create a podcast.
An L.A. resident, Ferrell hit the Staples Center and delivered a hilarious performance as his greatest creation.

Burgundy said at one point: “I once saw Jeff Carter with his shirt off in the locker room … he’s got the goods.”
His commentary of the actual action had fans in stitches, too.
“Cleared by the Kings! Take that, San Jose!! Zero Stanley Cups. ZERO Stanley Cups for the San Jose Sharks!!”
“Shot on goal, he scores!! Put that baby to bed without a diaper,” Ferrell said.
Anchorman first came out in 2004 and the follow-up didn’t arrive until nine years later. While a third installment hasn’t been totally disregarded, it likely wouldn’t happen anytime soon with director Adam McKay suggesting it might centre around sending Burgendy to the war in Iraq.
