Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, according to Sky Italia, are both interested in Esposito and would love to sign him.

The pair are offering the Italian the chance to leave the San Siro and continue his development elsewhere.

Borussia Dortmund are hopeful their track record of developing youngsters will give them the edge, but Chelsea are by no means out of the running.

The Blues have touched based with Inter and Esposito – and it is now up to the player to decide his future.

Chelsea lead race for Juventus star Miralem Pjanic as Barcelona boss denies interest

27 Jun

Chelsea’s pursuit of Miralem Pjanic has received a boost after Barcelona director Ariedo Braida insisted the Spanish club are not in the running to sign him.

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Miralem Pjanic has been linked with Chelsea

The Juventus playmaker has been linked with big-money summer moves to both clubs as a result of his impressive form in Serie A.

Following Andres Iniesta’s Nou Camp departure, Pjanic had been suggested as the perfect long-term replacement but Braida insists that is not the case.

He hints thats role will be filled by the incoming midfielder Arthur, who is set to arrive from Gremio, which could clear the way for Chelsea to land Pjanic.

Braida told JuveNews.eu: “There are no negotiations and I don’t think we’re interested in him.

“But now we have a Brazilian who will take on that role [of ‘regista’] because Barcelona are banking on him.

“There are those who take care of the market for Barcelona, but certainly I know the club’s strategy and Pjanic doesn’t fit into it.”

How Real Madrid’s Neymar pursuit could see Marco Asensio move to Liverpool

27 Jun

Real Madrid’s move for Brazil star Neymar could be very good news for Liverpool in their pursuit of Marco Asensio.

The Champions League winners may need to stump up £300million for the former Barcelona man, which will force them to find funds from their current squad.

Neymar scored his 56th international goal as Brazil beat Costa Rica 2-0 at the World Cup last Friday

And Liverpool, who have reportedly already had a £130m bid turned down for Asensio, could be first in line to benefit, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

The Spanish wonderkid’s release clause is an eye-watering £617m (€700m), but Madrid would likely sell for around £150m to raise the money for a Neymar bid.

Neymar, 26, could be on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain after just 12 months with the French champions, having joined in a world record £198m deal from Real’s fierce rivals Barcelona last summer.

The Brazil captain scored 28 times in 30 games for the Parisians in 2017/18 but after yet another failure for the club in the Champions League, Real could now pounce.

Asensio came off the bench against Liverpool in their 3-1 defeat to Madrid in last season’s Champions League final

Neymar won the Champions League with Barca in 2015, but has not come close to repeating the trick in the three following seasons, with each year ending in a Real triumph.

The forward admitted ahead of this summer’s World Cup that he is ‘not proud’ of being the world’s most expensive player, but could be set to smash the record yet again.

Liverpool meanwhile will be keen to wrap up a deal for Asensio as soon as possible, with the 22-year-old likely to be courted by every top European club this summer if Real are willing to sell.

Asensio has made 91 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 21 times, and made his World Cup debut for Spain as a substitute against Iran in the group stage.

Nabil Fekir transfer latest: Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas reveals discussions with Manchester United as Liverpool talks end

27 Jun

Jean-Michel Aulas has hinted at interest from Manchester United in Liverpool target Nabil Fekir.

Fekir, the Lyons playmaker, looked certain to join the Anfield club prior to the World Cup, before the deal collapsed at the final moment.

Fekir’s move to Liverpool collapsed at the 11th hour

Talks had progressed so far Fekir had already agreed personal terms with the Reds, and had reportedly chosen the shirt number he was going to wear for the Merseyside outfit.

However, Lyons announced the deal had been terminated, and the latest reports suggest Fekir could be offered a new contract to stay at the Groupama Stadium.

Liverpool remain interested in Fekir and could look to restart talks with the Ligue 1 club after the World Cup, but today Aulas, the Lyons president, has hinted at interest in the France international from Manchester United.

“I was with Jose Mourinho the other day,” Aulas has been quoted as saying. “We had long discussions.

“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool.

“At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.”

Aulas has hinted at interest in Fekir from Manchester United

Fekir, 24, scored 18 goals and created a further seven in 30 league appearances last season, going on to be included in France’s squad for the World Cup.

Les Bleus, managed by Didier Deschamps, finished top of their group and now face a round-of-16 knockout clash against Argentina.

Arsenal transfer news: Gunners interested in signing Junior Firpo, who has £22m release clause in Real Betis contract

27 Jun

Arsenal are interested in triggering the £22million release clause in Junior Firpo’s Real Betis cotnract, according to reports.

Firpo, the Dominican Republic full-back, progressed through Betis’ youth system before making his debut for their first-team in February of this year.

Firpo made his debut in February and went on to play 14 LaLiga matches in total

He went on to play 14 straight LaLiga matches after being introduced into the starting line-up, though he missed the final two games of the season due to a ligament injury.

Primarily a left-back, Firpo also featured in the centre of defence and on the left of midfield last term, and his performances for Betis – who qualified for the Europa League by finishing sixth in LaLiga – have reportedly caught the eye of clubs from across Europe.

According to InformBetis, Arsenal have shown an interest in signing Firpo, 21, this summer.

The Gunners, who are enjoying their first summer under new manager Unai Emery, are said to be considering triggering the release clause in Firpo’s Betis contract, which is set at around £22m (€25m).

Firpo helped Betis finish sixth in LaLiga, securing a spot in next season’s Europa League

Arsenal have already completed two signings this summer, bringing in Stephan Lichtsteiner, the full-back, from Juventus, and goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

Transfer report: Kostas Manolas ‘ready to snub Chelsea’ to stay at Roma

27 Jun

Kostas Manolas is ready to snub interest from Chelsea to stay at Roma, according to reports in Italy.

Kostas Manolas wants to remain at Roma this summer

The 27-year-old centre-back has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as the Blues look to bolster their back line.

Chelsea are currently working on a deal for Juventus’ Daniele Rugani, but Manolas is another name who has made his way onto their shortlist.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the Greece international has no plans to leave Roma this summer.

The centre-back has a release clause of around £30million and Chelsea would be willing to match it.

Manolas, however, has no desire to join the Blues as he is very happy continuing his career with Roma.

The defender has been at the Serie A club since 2014 and has made over 150 appearances in that time.

Manolas is no stranger to interest from England, having previously been on both Arsenal and Manchester United’s radars.

Southampton star Dusan Tadic set for £18m Ajax switch

27 Jun

Dusan Tadic is on the brink of completing an £18million switch from Southampton to Ajax, according to reports.

The playmaker is currently on World Cup duty with Serbia, and looks set to move back to the Eredivisie when he returns from Russia.

Tadic has 55 caps for Serbia, scoring 13 times

Tadic, 29, spent four years in the Netherlands with Groningen and FC Twente before joining Southampton in a £10.9m deal in 2014.

According to Sky Sports, Ajax are now on the verge of agreeing a deal with Saints, who are looking to complete the £16m signing of Basel‘s Mohamed Elyounoussi as a replacement.

The Serb is reported to have told Southampton he wants to return to the Eredivisie this summer after a disastrous season for the club, which ended with them scraping survival in the Premier League.

Tadic has been one of Southampton‘s key players ever since joining, with 23 goals in 162 appearances in all competitions, but now looks set to be the latest key player to leave St Mary’s in recent seasons.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United eyeing Tottenham star Heung-Min Son

27 Jun

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, according to reports.

Heung-Min Son is reportedly wanted by Spurs’ top Premier League rivals

The 25-year-old enjoyed a fine season for Spurs last term, finishing the campaign with 12 Premier League goals and six assists.

After a slow start to English football back in 2015, the South Korean star has now found his feet and his form isn’t going unnoticed.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United – according to German broadcaster Sport 1 – are all interested in former Hamburg and Bayern Leverkusen ace Son, and are ready to move for him this summer.

Tottenham are unlikely to want to sell one of their star forwards, but their Premier League rivals are ready to test their resolve.

Spurs shelled out around £22million to sign Son from Leverkusen in August 2015 and he still has two years to run on his current contract.

Arsenal transfer news: Gunners to renew interest in Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, available for £12m

27 Jun

Arsenal are set to renew their interest in Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to reports.

Jankto, the Czech Republic international, has been linked with a transfer to the Emirates on numerous occasions previously, with the Gunners failing to prise him away from Udinese last summer.

Jankto scored four goals and created a further six in 36 games last season

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the brightest talents in Italy’s Serie A since breaking Zebrette’s first-team in 2016/17, after enjoying a prosperous loan spell with Ascoli the prior season.

And now, according to Coerriere della Sera, Arsenal could renew their interest in Jankto amid interest in the midfielder from Udinese’s Serie A rivals Atalanta.

It is reported that an offer of around £12million (€14m) could convince the Stadio Friuli club to sell, and Jankto’s agent, Beppe Riso, has previously spoken about his client’s love for English football.

“He likes Arsenal,” Riso said of Jankto this time last year. “He is a lover of English football, and he likes Juve, Inter and other teams as well.

“He’s a young man, 21, and must be calm and think only of Udinese, then we’ll see.

“I see him more in the Premier League than in other championships, yes.”

Jankto does not want to remain in Italy

Jankto himself has also admitted that he does not want to remain in Italy for the rest of his playing days.

He said: “Is my future in the Premier League? I’ve always said I don’t want to stay in Italy for the whole of my career.”

Leeds United transfer news: Marcelo Bielsa keen on signing Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn and Birmingham glovesman David Stockdale

27 Jun

Leeds United are interested in signing Angus Gunn and David Stockdale this summer, as Marcelo Bielsa plans to bring a new goalkeeper to Elland Road.

Bielsa was recently appointed manager of the Yorkshire club, succeeding Paul Heckingbottom after his sacking at the end of last season.

The Argentine arrived at Leeds’ Thorpe Arch training ground on Monday for his first day in charge, and he admitted in his first press conference that he was not planning on making too many signings this summer.

“For the moment we are not intending to bring too many new faces in,” Bielsa said. “From my point of view the club have plenty of players on the books who I believe we should keep. The club generally have 15 players more than we need and we still have four or five different positions where we need to strengthen.”

However, a new goalkeeper is believed to be one of Bielsa’s priorities, and a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post says Leeds are courting Angus Gunn, the Manchester City glovesman, and David Stockdale of Birmingham City.

Stockdale, 32, made 39 appearances for Birmingham last season, having moved to St Andrew’s on a free transfer from Brighton in summer 2017.

Stockdale helped Brighton win promotion to the Premier League before leaving for Birmingham last summer

England Under-21 international Gunn is currently contracted to Manchester City, but he spent 2017/18 on loan at Leeds’ Championship rivals Norwich, with whom he kept 15 clean sheets in 46 league matches.

Gunn is held in high-regard at parent club Manchester City

Leeds have just two goalkeepers on their books right now, Andy Lonergan and youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell, as Felix Wiedwald left Elland Road for Eintracht Frankfurt of the Bundesliga earlier this month.
