WWE Fastlane: Seth Rollins could be in hot water after saying ‘M*****f*****’ live on air

11 Mar

Seth Rollins is on course to fight for the Universal title at WrestleMania 35 when he faces Brock Lesnar in New Jersey.

That’s The Kingslayer’s reward for winning the 2019 Royal Rumble match and many fans are hoping Rollins will be the man to finally send the Beast packing.

The Shield features Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose

There’s no doubt Rollins is one of the WWE’s ‘top guys’, but there’s a good chance the company won’t be happy when the emotions got the better of him at Fastlane.

The Shield had their final match together before Dean Ambrose leaves the company after WrestleMania and they took on Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin at Fastlane.

The Shield came out victorious, but and finished things off with their patented triple powerbomb. But, before they did, Rollins shouted “One last motherf****** time!” which the company had to quickly mute.

For such a special moment and on company pay-per-view where they haven’t got to worry about TV deals, Rollins might be ok.

But there’s no way Vince McMahon will appreciate one of his main event players using language like that, especially when little kids were in attendance and are bound to watch.

Still, it was an emotional moment and Rollins was clearly wrapped up in it – who can blame him right?

Roman Reigns returns at WWE Fastlane as The Shield share emotional moment after leukemia battle

11 Mar

Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return to a WWE ring on Sunday in what had been billed as The Shield’s last ever match.

The Big Dog had not been seen since last October when he faced another fight with leukemia, but he announced two weeks ago he was now in remission.

The last time The Shield will be together in WWE

With Dean Ambrose set to leave the company after WrestleMania 35, Reigns got the band back together one last time at Fastlane to take on the trio of Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin.

In a fun match, The Shield got the win after all three members hit their finishers on Corbin and finished things off in trademark style with a triple powerbomb.

The Shield looked awesome throughout and they also managed to triple powerbomb McIntyre through a table as well.

There had been speculation that Ambrose would turn on his brothers again and set-up a date with Reigns at WrestleMania, but the WWE opted for the feel-good ending.

Rollins now goes on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at WrestleMania 35 while Reigns and Ambrose are still searching for opponents.

Speaking to talkSPORT earlier this week, Reigns admitted he would try and keep Ambrose with the company past WrestleMania.

Becky Lynch to main event WrestleMania 35 after victory at WWE Fastlane – thanks to shock Ronda Rousey moment

11 Mar

Becky Lynch is officially going to WrestleMania 35.

Despite the fact that The Man won the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble, she was first suspended for 30 days for refusing to have her knee medically evaluated and was then hit with a 60-day suspension by Vince McMahon.

Rousey after costing Flair the match and sending Becky to WrestleMania

That suspension was lifted last week and Lynch was given the chance to face Charlotte Flair at Fastlane and if she won, she would make the Charlotte Vs Ronda Rousey match at WrestleMania 35 a triple-threat.

Lynch is still using a crutch to get around at the moment and Flair dominated almost all of their match and just as Flair clamped on a submission, Ronda Rousey made her presence felt.

Rousey punched Lynch in order to cause a disqualification, but that made Lynch the winner and added her to the WrestleMania match – exactly what Rousey wanted.

Rousey made plenty of headlines this week with a worked shoot promo on wrestling, specifically saying that it is ‘fake’ and ‘scripted’.

It’s all, of course, in a bid to make this angle feel more real and there is no doubt this is the hottest feud in the company right now.

WWE has never had women main event at WrestleMania, but it’s widely speculated that these three women are going to be the first.

Now, we’re one step closer.

WWE Fastlane: Kevin Owens avoids devastating injury with scary fall

11 Mar

Kevin Owens only returned to action a few weeks ago after nearly six months out because of double knee surgery.

But at Fastlane, the Canadian was immediately inserted into a WWE title match with Daniel Bryan, but the original plans had Owens challenging for the title at WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens only returned a month ago

The rise of Kofi Kingston to main event player and the crowd’s desire to see him become WWE champion has seen Owen’s shot get moved forward and after some McMahon toying with Kingston, his title match was made a triple-threat, too.

But, not with Kingston. Mustafa Ali was the lucky third participant.

During the match, wrestling fans held their collective breath as KO went to execute a tope con hillo on Bryan’s heavy, Erick Rowan.

However, Rowan didn’t catch Owens as expected and it resulted in a very scary moment for the former Universal champion.

Owens sprung up straight away luckily and no harm appears to have been done.

There is no clear path for Owens at WrestleMania now that Kingston seems primed to challenge Bryan after he retained on Sunday.

Sami Zayn is on the cusp of returning, though, and reuniting the band might make the world of sense.

WWE Fastlane: Vince McMahon adds Kofi Kingston to WWE title match and then masterfully swerved the fans

11 Mar

Vince McMahon, for whatever reason, has been screwing over WWE’s top stars for more than 20 years now.

The chairman of the company and creator of Sports Entertainment is playing an integral part of WWE TV right now as a serious obstacle in Becky Lynch’s and Kofi Kingston’s paths to world title success at WrestleMania 35.

Kofi Kingston learning the news at Fastlane

At the Fastlane pay-per-view on Sunday, McMahon had Kofi Kingston summoned to his office to ‘talk about the WWE title match’ between Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan.

After waiting outside of his office for an hour, Kingston was finally told he had been inserted into the match and the WWE title match was no a triple-threat, with the New Day banned from ringside.

When Kingston got to the ring, the ring announcer was told that it was now a handicap match and Kingston was facing The Bar.

The New Day member would be decimated by the multi-time tag team champions and when Big E and Xavier Woods tried to interfere, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev cut them off and laid them out too.

A textbook move from McMahon to hold a huge babyface down. The fans want Kingston as their world champion badly after his 11-year odyssey.

Still, the more that McMahon toys with Kingston, the more likely we shall see the former Jamaican grappler face Daniel Bryan in New Jersey on April 7.

WWE Fastlane: Shane McMahon turns heel on The Miz to set up WrestleMania 35 match

11 Mar

The Miz and Shane McMahon had one more stab at the SmackDown Live Tag Team titles at WWE’s Fastlane pay-per-view event on Sunday.

The duo challenged The Usos for the straps, but just like at Elimination Chamber, they fell short.

Shane McMahon and The Miz with the SmackDown Live tag titles at the Royal Rumble

The Miz was devastated to lose the match in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and the Usos scored the pin following a poor frog splash from Miz and rolled him up.

Following the loss, The Miz and Shane played to the crowd and Miz even went and raised his father’s hand at ringside.

However, that was the queue for Shane McMahon to beatdown The Miz and rub his father’s face in it.

Shane even locked in a vicious submission at ringside and face-planted Miz’s dad, too.

Why Miz’s dad wouldn’t have vaulted the barricade, we’ll never know!

It’s long been rumoured that The Miz and Shane McMahon would face each other at WrestleMania 35 in April.

The pair won the SmackDown Tag Team titles at the Royal Rumble to begin this angle and it looks like the match will be set.
