“I’m trying to make that fight for that date. We have a deal in principle, it’s just whether they sign a contract. Everything’s agreed.”
Chris Algieri vs Tommy Coyle
“It’s looking very likely, Algieri vs Coyle.”
“Possibly, [it’s] more likely May 18 at the moment on the Usyk card. Just a voluntary defence, we’ve got a few guys in mind. It’d be the first of quite a quick schedule for Callum Smith. I want him to box three times this year. I want him to box May 18, then August or first week of September and then December.”
“Very likely. Yes, basically. Sorting out [his opponent] at the moment.”
“We’ll see how he gets on on Saturday. I would love Buatsi to box on that card, but he’s very meticulous in his preparations so he wants to see how he feels after Saturday and he’s got to win on Saturday.
“Josh Kelly will box on that card, obviously he’s fighting April 20 and a big step up planned for MSG.”
