Lyon set to swoop for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele if Mariano Diaz returns to Real Madrid

Lyon are ready to swoop for Celtic attacker Moussa Dembele in the event Mariano Diaz moves to Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old already looks set for a return to the Bernabeu after the striker left the Spanish giants last summer to join Lyon as part of a deal worth around £7m.

Marseille have also been linked with a move for Dembele

Real are ready to cough up £36m to re-sign Diaz, who scored over 20 goals in France last season, but given the fact that they are entitled to 35 per cent of the profit from the striker’s sale in reality they will only pay just under £25m.

Lyon’s decision to sell their star man now means they desperately need to bring in a forward.

And, according to L’Equipe, they are ready to turn to Dembele of Celtic.

The 22-year-old has already been linked with a move back to France as Marseille are interested in him.

Lyon are now ready to join the race for him and the Ligue 1 club will have plenty of money to finance a deal given the sale of Diaz.
