‘Maybe Ander Herrera isn’t a centre-back’ – Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United experiment backfires against Tottenham

27 Aug

Well, what did you expect from a midfielder playing at centre-back?

Everyone stepped up to play Christian Eriksen offside ahead of Tottenham’s second goal – except Ander Herrera.

Herrera was at fault for the second goal

United were completely undone and Spurs soared into a two-goal lead courtesy of Lucas Moura.

Herrera struggled in the second instance when he tried to block Moura’s goal-bound effort, too.

Harry Kane had put the away side ahead just two minutes earlier with a perfectly-guided header from a corner.

But fans were quick to point out that Herrera cannot be blamed, because he simply shouldn’t be playing in that position.
